Made in summer 2018

I'd been spending quite a bit of time trying to make music and getting creatively blocked — always late in the evening, at a desk, with several keyboards and MIDI devices around. The possiblities were too wide, and I always ended up not knowing where to start.

Instead I started taking my laptop outside, to parks, gardens, on train journeys — and forcing myself to make simpler things. The sound from the world around me bled in through my headphones, and felt like a part of the music, which I found really useful for inspiration.

It's not Grammy-worthy stuff but it's cute. If nothing else, listening back to it now really recaptures the vibe of that summer for me.
